Congratulations, Ms. Brenda! A Familiar Face Steps into a New Role

Ms. Brenda:

"I’ve loved my years in this classroom, and I am excited to step into this new role. The children and the Baraga community mean so much to me, and I can't wait to start the new school year."

We are thrilled to announce that Brenda Dunham has been named the new Lead Preschool Teacher. For those of you who have walked these halls, this name needs no introduction. Ms. Brenda has been a beloved part of our preschool program since 2012, serving as a classroom aide and pouring her heart into our youngest learners every single day.‍ ‍

Her dedication, warmth, and love for children have made her a familiar and trusted presence — not just in our preschool program, but throughout Bishop Baraga and the Cheboygan community, and there is no doubt she will continue to bring those same gifts to her new role.

"Brenda has been a cornerstone of our preschool program since 2012, and there is no one more deserving of this opportunity,” said Sean McNeal and Peggy Paul, Interim Co-Principals. “Our preschool families already know and trust her, and that means so much as we move forward. We are incredibly blessed to have her lead our youngest Eagles."

Brenda has resided in the Cheboygan community since the late nineties with her husband, Andy. They have two grown children, Grayson and Tess, and a chocolate lab named Paisley. Outside of the classroom, Brenda enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, and cheering for U of M (don’t be scared, MSU fans, it’s all good fun!).

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited about the continuity, care, and commitment Brenda brings to our preschool families. If you see her in the hallway or around town, give her a big congratulations! Please join us in welcoming Ms. Brenda to her new role. 🦅
