Catholic Schools Week
January 24 - 30, 2026
National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. We observe the week with Mass, assemblies, events, and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to join the celebration around what makes Catholic schools excellent. We hope you will join us!

Saturday, January 24th: Celebrating Our Parish
Prayer: 4:00 p.m. Mass at Sacred Heart
Student Dress: Uniform
Activity: Students pass out thank you cards to parishioners
Sunday, January 25th: Celebrating Our Parish
Prayer: 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary St. Charles
Student Dress: Uniform
Activity: Students pass out thank you cards to parishioners
Monday, January 26th: Celebrating Our Community
Assembly: Prayer and Bishop Baraga school presentation
Student Dress: Uniform
Activity: Art Project Extravaganza
Lunch: Pancakes, Sausage, and Applesauce (Sponsored by SMSC Task Force)
Tuesday, January 27th: Celebrating Our Students
Assembly: Prayer and Bishop Baraga school presentation
Student Dress: Holiday attire (clothing that reflects a Catholic holiday)
Activities: Relay Mania Challenge. Each class will make thank you notes for parish priests and deacon, and CSW sponsors
Lunch: Chicken Nuggets, Mac and Cheese, Carrots and Celery with Ranch Dressing (Sponsored by PTO)
Wednesday, January 28th: Celebrating the Nation
Assembly: Prayer and Bishop Baraga school presentation
Student Dress: Wacky Wednesday - Dress Your Craziest!
Activity: Movie Day with Popcorn
Lunch: Pizza (Sponsored by Sacred Heart Church)
Thursday, January 29th: Celebrating Vocations
Assembly: Prayer and Bishop Baraga school presentation
Student Dress: Green and White - Spirit Day! Go Eagles!
Activity: Family Game Day - Parents stay after lunch and assist students with games (time counts as volunteer hours!).
Lunch: Lunch with a Guest (Guest can bring a special lunch)
Friday, January 30th: Celebrating Our Faculty, Staff & Volunteers
8:15 AM Mass in Chapel
Assembly: Prayer and Bishop Baraga school presentation. Visit with Fr. Duane, Fr. Thomas, and Deacon Curtis.
Student Dress: Uniform for Mass. Following Mass, students dress as favorite saint and will present to the class information on their saint.
Activity: Catholic Trivia
Lunch: Hot Dogs and Fruit (Sponsored by Knights of Columbus)
