Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers benefit our school in a number of
ways, including improving school climate,
student learning, and they serve as examples
of charity and service for students.
Volunteerism is a necessity so that we may
continue to offer the variety of quality
programs that benefit your children. We offer
many areas to select from for your 25-hour
commitment. We ask that at least 10 of
these volunteer hours be used in some way
to assist with the Baraga Boosters “Gala.”
The remaining 15 hours may be used
throughout the year on whatever projects
interest you most. The list at the left offers
many potential volunteer opportunities.

To help keep track of the volunteer hours you have completed, a “Volunteer Book” is located
in the school office to record your hours. Also, there is a traveling volunteer book for your
convenience. This book is to be used to record hours at times when the office is closed and
you are working on special projects, such as helping with events at the K of C Hall.
For parents wishing to work with the students in a school atmosphere, each is required by the
Diocese of Gaylord to complete the SAFE Environment Program. All volunteers working with
students at least 8 hours a month are required to complete the "Shield the Vulnerable" course
(either in person or on-line). A background check and fingerprint scan are also required to
ensure the safety of our students. For more details on the program and the necessary forms,
please click on the links below.
