Home and School Association & SCRIP Bishop Baraga Home and School Association is a group of parents and teachers who work together to provide support to the staff, students and families of Bishop Baraga School. An annual St. Patrick's Day party provides funds to provide many "extras" at school, including classroom supplies, field trips, programs, extracurricular materials, Catholic Schools Week activities and more. The party is hosted by the Home and School Association with immeasurable help from school families and friends from our parish. The party usually includes raffles, auctions, a bake sale and other activities to ensure a rousing good time is had by all. Home and School also coordinates other activities at school to support the staff, students, and families, including the new family mentoring program, social events and a teacher appreciation luncheon. The Board of Directors includes: - President: Lisa Craig Brisson (Mom to a kindergartner, 3rd grader and 5th grader) - Vice-President: Gary Guevara (Dad to a first grader, preschooler and future student) - Treasurer: Geri Kane (Mom to several alum, a sixth grader and a second grader) - Secretary: Melissa Goodrich (Mom to a preschooler, 3rd grader and 5th grader) - Trustee: Andrea Blaskowski (Mom to a 3rd grader and kindergartner) - Trustee: Julie Neph (Mom to an alum and a 5th grader) - Publicity: Open (this could be YOU! It's not hard, and we're fun. Really) - Teachers: Joey Miller (1st gr.), Mary Redmond (4th gr.) Jill Kwiatkowski (6th gr.) Association meetings are held once a month, with some committees meeting monthly as well. Meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the school and are often followed by social time at Mulligan's. Home and School has a group on Facebook. Please join to get updates about meetings and other helpful information. Visitors are ALWAYS welcome at Home and School meetings, especially beginning in January when the work for the party really gets started. SCRIP Home and School is also the umbrella organization for Scrip, which helps school families receive tuition donations through the purchase of gift cards. Team Scrip usually meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at Lisa Craig Brisson's house (childcare provided by Lisa's very nurturing 5th grader). We are always looking for more help with Scrip. We would love to be able to provide more local gift cards (like Cheboygan Lumber) and sell after more school and church Masses. We'd love more help!
