School Advisory Board
The Advisory Board is an administrative committee composed of parents and members of
both St. Mary/St. Charles and Sacred Heart parishes that reviews and recommends
school policy and procedures. There are 7-12 appointed members selected by the pastor.
Three officers (chair, vice-chair and recording secretary) are chosen by the board. The
pastor of St. Mary/St. Charles, the school principal and a faculty member serve as
non-voting members. The board generally meets the first Wednesday of the month at 5:30.
The purpose of this board is to:
Serve as the "umbrella" over all other school committees, ensuring good
cross-communication between our various volunteer groups
Offer financial advice
Develop and recommend policy
Develop stability and growth in the school
Promote parental involvement
Promote the school to the community
Enable the principal to spend time as an educational leader
Provide parents/guardians with a voice in their children’s education
