Why Catholic School?

Alumni Voices
Parental Involvement
We feel strongly that parental involvement is critical to the success of a child. Our parent/faculty partnership serves as a foundation for offering our students a complete education of the mind, body and spirit. Our school families are very involved, attending and participating in a number of school and Parish activities. Each family at Bishop Baraga is asked to make a volunteer commitment. This commitment enables us to offer a variety of programs and activities that might not otherwise be possible. Each family's participation also provides parents with a way to help improve the quality of our school through the use of their time and talents.

Quality Improvements
At Bishop Baraga we are continually working to improve the quality of our school. Over the last two years, several new programs have been implemented to provide additional services and opportunities for our students and their families. These new programs include:

Expanding the “Faith Development” program through the use of Liturgy Services in lieu of Mass when there are funerals and pastoral retreats, and the Morning Scripture Readings and announcements which are made over the PA (Public Announcement) System on Tuesday and Wednesday when assembly or Mass is not held.
Creating new school programs such as the “Breakfast Club,” the Cooking and Archery clubs and our "Motor Moms and Dads" fitness program.
Expanding the school's music program by offering music and recorder lessons by George Krawczyk to all 4th, 5th and 6th grade students not in band. The school also created a “Spring Musicale” to display the musical talent of these students.
Increasing the tuition assistance to families through the creation of the “Guardian Angel Program.” This program has collected over $21,000 for the school's scholarship fund. Thank you to all those who gave so generously!
